Pastry Chef - Permanent at The Lindis Group

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Lindis Lodge is looking for a reliable candidate, with a positive, friendly, and professional attitude to join the team at the Lindis.

Nestled in the Ahuriri Valley is The Lindis. Roughly 2 hours north of Queenstown. You will find the unmistakable warm high-country hospitality, a refined restaurant that pays direct homage to our region and surrounds, as well as an iconic river and valley to explore.

We are looking for an experienced Pastry Chef wanting to make the role their own, and who will thrive working within a young and motivated team with the joint objective to continue to make The Lindis the best lodge in New Zealand and the world!  The successful candidate will join a tight-knit team that works to the highest standards. 

Job Description :

  • Opportunity to learn from a passionate Head Chef and support offered from a remote Executive Chef.
  • A daily changing menu catering for up to 16 guests.
  • work with the best ingredients the region has to offer.
  • Imagine daily bar bakes and desserts with the assistance of the Head Chef.
  • Assist with kitchen daily tasks.
  • Create and achieve weekly pastry planning, work around seasonal and localy sourced ingredients.
  • Train the team on different pastry techniques to cover for your days off.
  • A work place which encourages innovation and showcasing the best ingredients in NZ in a small team of Hospitality professionals.
  • The post holder may be required from time to time to undertake other duties within the estate as may be reasonably expected, without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility entailed.

This is a permanent position with a minimum of 30 hours per week.

The successful candidate can be offered staff accommodation in one of our shared Staff Houses.


RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Pastry Chef

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements:

All applicants must have the following:

  • At least 2 years of experience working in a high end kitchen & in a similar position.
  • Good knowledge of New Zealand’s Food Safety processes.
  • Able to legally work and live in New Zealand.
  • Able to relocate & work in a beautiful but remote location of the South Island.
  • Driver’s license as work the lodge is remote.
  • English speaking is a must.
  • Comfortable dealing in a fast paced environment and daily rotating menus.
  • Must be flexible and available to work across weekends and Public holidays.
  • Friendly, positive and make our guests feel at home.
